Well, more like a third of the way through, and after. Sorry about that. I’m still getting used to trying to capture the progress.
This is my second ‘cloudscape’ as I like to think of them. I will post the first and third ones soon.
My first series.
Painted from photos I took on my resolution-challenged mobile phone from a moving car window on a trip along the highway in the south-west of Australia. Couldn’t help myself, there was a trio of the most amazing pink-orange clouds on the eastern horizon which we seemed to chase for a while. Absolutely love dusk.

Hi Laura
You are tempting me to have a go at pastels with these glowing images (remember I’ve seen the ‘Fruit Pastel’! ) Your photo of the box of pastels was also a great image and they look good enough to eat! Was the background painted on cloudscape first before you applied pastel?

Hey Deb, lovely to hear from you. You should have a go, you’d be a natural! The background colour is already applied to the paper when you buy it. It is called Colourfix paper and is a little grainy like sandpaper so that the pastel has something to grab. You can get quite a few shades to choose from.
