Imagine stretching back after a hard day’s swimming, driving and eating on an unseasonally warm autumn break about this time last year, catching wafts of barbequeing sausages and sipping from a cold beer on the front deck-lette of a little caravan and taking in this view.
So glad there is one tiny undeveloped pocket of bliss still left for us to enjoy. Tried to capture this today in my last pastels class. My teacher said I should be proud. Bless him.

You’re a sweetheart. Glad you like it. It was very quick to do (think it reflects this?)

Could be that the deftness of your hands applying the pastel really shows here. There is something about quick work – it gives a sort of fleeting quality, a bit like the moment in time captured in the photo – so it is so appropriate for this image. A few minutes later and those sky colours & reflections where gone. Its almost like you drew this quickly at the scene – I think thats one of the reasons why this works so well.

Thank you my love. Originally took these to do linocuts from because of the strong black silhouettes but this was a lot quicker to do. Prob will do a linocut one day, just to see.
Exhibition is quite a long way off I think 🙂

P.S. Don’t you think it is great I can share pics with you even though you’re so far away? I love to know that you are checking in. Can be a little lonely being a closet artist…
P.P.S. This doesn’t mean you need to keep writing complimentary comments 🙂
