Color by numbers

I found this cross-stitch kit at Rozelle Markets one fine Saturday and picked it up for huge $3. Spurred on by my successful completion of a small image of Santa’s head (…not a sentence I ever anticipated writing) I thought it might be satisfying to try something bigger. Bigger and more complex. Complex in the way that it has 14 separate symbols (for the corresponding thread colours) and a pattern printed at about half an A4 size. Thinking I may have failed some relevant visual acuity test that came free with the original purchase, I decided to enlarge it somewhat. And here is where the colour by numbers bit comes in… not that I ever need an excuse to colour in.

So far, I’ve coloured one quarter of the total image so will continue on with the actual cross-stitching (Pine Green Light tonight), perfect for a moody Monday evening and ‘listening’ to Q&A on ABC1.

If I’m squinting the next time you see me, you’ll know why…
